Parasitoid wasps are found all over the USA and the world. Some are used commonly for pest control, because of how they reproduce. They are the parasite or rather, their larvae is. Parasitoid wasps kill a variation of aphids, beetles, caterpillars, and flies to lay their larvae inside of the dead insect. Then, the larvae take in all the nutrients they can get to grow inside the insect. When ready, the new wasp bursts out the cycle will continue. This is an example of parasitism because the host is harmed and the parasite benefits. These wasps are used for pest control because they kill insects that harm crops.
